Hi, I am Micha Jazz and I am a contemplative activist.
Today I live as a Friar and I work as a Spiritual Director, leading Retreats and Pilgrimages, accompanying individuals on their spiritual journey, as well as a writer, poet and communicator. My journey has been deeply impacted through living as primary carer for my first wife during the last12 years of her life. This challenge introduced me into the way of the contemplative, when I needed to dig deep into the ancient wisdom.
I am committed to exploring the connectedness between Solitude, Solidarity, Service and Simplicity. I do so within the Christian tradition and work with individuals and groups on Formation.
Formation addresses our individual spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical and social needs and is a continuous work of grace for which we take responsibility in collaboration with the Triune God. Formation is not itself the objective. Rather it is a gradual journey of continuous conversion towards God in the world. It helps us to be conformed to God so that we might transform the world around us. It is holistic, dealing with our total humanity and every aspect of our life. It removes the false distinction between spiritual and non-spiritual, revealing that all of life is spiritual, hence Paul’s declaration, ‘...it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me’,(Galatians 2:20).
Previously, the majority of my working life has been spent engaged with non profit organisations in the UK and USA. I have also served on the leadership team of Revelation Church in Chichester for 21 years. After many years in communications, PR and strategic development, I turned my attention to pursuing life as a contemplative activist helping realise individual and collaborative potential. I am particularly effective in operating in a participative, non-threatening style.
